1. Overview Briefline ("we", "our", or "us") provides a productivity tool designed to capture web research, citations, and evidence snippets directly within your browser. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.

2. Data Collection & Local Storage

• Local Processing: All captured text, page titles, URLs, timestamps, and confidence ratings are stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API.
• No Remote Tracking: We do not collect, transmit, track, or sell your research data, browsing history, or personal identifiable information (PII) to external servers.

3. Payments & Billing Payment processing is handled securely via ExtensionPay and Stripe. We do not collect or store your payment details, credit card numbers, or billing addresses on our systems.

4. Permissions Used

• storage: Required to save your captures locally on your device.
• contextMenus: Required to provide the right-click "Capture to Briefline" action on selected text.
• activeTab: Used solely to read the current page's URL and title when you explicitly trigger a capture action.
